Right…soooo I hurt my back today…
..by twisting. o.O

I was standing at work this morning and twisted sharply to look at something behind me. Moments later my back was killing me. I have never had back pain like this before. Ever. I could barely stand upright and walking is awful. I can sit without much pain and bending over relieves the pain as well. But I walk very, very slowly…and slightly stooped over.

I made an emergency trip to the chiropractor this afternoon, and he says I have an acute facet joint injury. As he explained it, when I twisted, the joint sort of ‘jumped the track’ and got out of alignment. That caused the surrounding muscles to spasm, hence the extreme pain I’m in. This link explains it a little bit better.

He told me to:
- Stay off my feet as much as possible.
- Take OTC pain meds.
- Ice packs only - no heat
- Call him on Monday and let him know how I’m doing.
So…I may not be around much this weekend. Depends on how I’m feeling and how well I’m able to move. *sigh* :(

A fire ant? I wanna cry just thinking about it. That HURTS. I hope you feel better tomorrow. Have you put anything on it to lessen the pain?

Thanks…and yeah, fire ant bites are the worst! I still don’t know what this is, but when I got up this morning, my finger was so swollen that I couldn’t even make a fist. :( I’ve been putting hydrocortizone on it to help with the itching. It doesn’t hurt unless I bump it into something.

How’s your finger now? I wonder what bit you. Have you been to a doctor yet?

The surrounding area isn’t quite as red, but it’s still swollen and itches like a mofo.

I’d swear the bite looks and acts a lot like a fire ant bite, but I’m trying to figure out how a fire ant got into my bed. I suppose I could have carried him in on my clothes or something. I honestly have no idea what bit me.

I haven’t gone to the doctor yet. I thought I’d wait and see what it looked like tomorrow morning.

Something bit my finger this morning while I was alseep…

I was awakened at about 4:00 this morning by a sharp pain on my right ring finger. My whole had then began to itch and burn like the fires of hell. I jumped out of my bed and started flinging blankets and pillows trying to find whatever it was to no avail.

There’s now a bump with a tiny whitehead on it at the base of my finger, it’s red and still pretty itchy.

And I may never sleep in my own bed again.
